Hand Painted Cabinetry

2015

Lowe and Bespoke Kitchens showroom.

Cabinetry sprayed with an a/c primer and undercoat, the topcoat was applied by roller and laid off with a synthetic bristle laying off cabinet brush. The top coat is a paint designed specifically for cabinet painting. Helmi paint is a waterbased product and the colour was matched to Farrow and Ball Moles Breath.

Tikkurila Helmi Furniture and Trim Paint has high abrasion and chip resistance making it ideal for painting furniture, kitchen cabinets, doors and wooden trim.

Specialist Finishing 2017

Bespoke Edwardian fire surround made of pine, the base of this Project. Oak and pine mouldings and picture rails were added to give it a Regency period look along with some extra height.

The brackets of the surround were  chased into the wall and the surround was primed and undercoated in Johnstone's grey oil based paint. The top and the front face were left unpainted exposing the beautiful grain you so often find in antique pine.

Rustoleum Sage Green waterbased paint was applied to give the surround a very flat finish. Osma Satin Oil was used on the bare pine to give it a light shine and protection.

The mouldings were painted in a deep brown and then gold gilding wax in 3 different shades were applied slowly to build up the sheen and create a patina effect, giving the piece a sense of age. Finally Rustoleum Dark and Clear Finishing Wax was used to complete the look.
